T-Rex Food Truck – Late Night Cravings!

T-Rex Food Truck – Late Night Cravings!

Overall Bites:

Value: $9 for the loaded fries, then $3 for the horchata. Personally I thought it was over priced.

Taste: The taste was good! Not like “I’d kill for this” good but good nonetheless. I wasn’t quite fond of the horchata, just didn’t seem like it was made from scratch.

Presentation: Everything was well presented. I did like the fact that the drinks were served in a clear plastic cup. It made for great presentation of the drinks.

Vibe: These guys had a great attitude and the vibe of this place was legit!

Accessibility: Ricky’s Paintball is a space for all types of food trucks. There’s always no less than 5 trucks parked. Located on Zaragosa. You cannot miss it!

Ever had a late night craving? Yeah same here, which is why I’m writing this review on T-Rex food truck! They were at a location called Ricky’s Paintball which is a gathering of food trucks. All types of food trucks are parked here. From taco trucks to trucks that sell cupcakes and trucks with cuisines from different parts of the world. On a weekend you’ll see more than 10 trucks parked! It’s amazing! I vibe with this place. Not to mention that when we went, there was live music. Food, live music, and great company. There is nothing more I could ask for.

I had the ‘T-Rex Loaded Carne Asada Fries.’ Fries, carne asada, guacamole, tomatoes, and salsa. Kind of like loaded nachos or tacos but with FRIES! Two of my favorite things combined into one. The fries were good, nothing to be amazed about though. I’m not sure if these fries were frozen but I prefer mine fresh and they didn’t give me that taste. The asada was good! Seasoned well and tender. The guac was amazing (that could just be my love for avocados) and their toppings were good also. They were also generous with their servings so that is always great!

I was super grateful that they asked me if I wanted onions as I was ordering. If you have read any review of mine before, you know I HATE raw onions and when they asked me I was even surprised they did! Otherwise that would have ruined my whole meal. KUDOS to these guys for that. To drink I had Agua de Horchata. Which is basically rice, water, sugar and sweet condensed milk. I am not quite sure this horchata was made from scratch. Somehow just didn’t seem authentic to me. My partner had asada tacos. He loves asada tacos but said these weren’t all the best to talk about. He also noticed he only had single tortillas. Personally I don’t care for the double tortillas, just seems like more carbs (as if I watched my figure). ANYWHO!

T-Rex gets 3.5 Bites from me! Service was great, meal was good, but thought maybe it just needed something to stand out from the crowd.  This was my experience! Try them out yourselves! Ciao for now.
