Amore Neapolitan Pizzeria – Authentic

Amore Neapolitan Pizzeria – Authentic

Authentic Neapolitan Pizza in Albuquerque? Absolutely!!! Amore has brought a great new look to authentic Neapolitan Pizza. The shop looks amazing and the food tastes even better. Everything is fresh and everything is delicious. Click HERE for the full review.

OVERALL BITES:

Value: 5 of us were able to eat for about $30. We did make happy hour, which allowed us to order appetizers for $5 but even then the other menu items won’t break the bank.

Taste: Fresh!!! Everything is made from scratch and you can tell. The herbs used make all the flavors pop.  They chop up their own chile, they make their own cheese, and every dish I had was amazing!

Presentation: It’s just pizza, right? How much better does it get than a cardboard box!?! Amore does it right! The appetizers look a lot more elegant, and expensive, than what they are. You’ll feel you’re at an upscale restaurant with every day prices.

Vibe: Very subtle classiness to the restaurant, elegant yet casual, both inside and on the patio. The decor is subtle and you’ll notice tons of little designs within the bigger ones. The restaurant is inviting and at the same time relaxing.

Accessibility: Two convenient locations. The one I went to was on Central, not too far from downtown, in the Country Club Plaza. Pull in and go to the back for additional parking. The second is at Greenjeans off Carlisle just north of I-40.

Review – Amore Neapolitan Pizzeria

I’m really excited about Amore Neapolitan Pizzeria so let me jump right in. First, the restaurant itself. Amore, as some of you might have guessed, means LOVE or it can also mean a really big pizza pie. At Amore you can tell they love what they do and it shows in the ingredients they use in every single dish and every single pizza. When you take your first bite you’ll taste the difference too.

There are several tables throughout with metal chairs and wood seats on them. There is also bar seating areas. Under one of the bar counters there was little hooks which my girls thought was a great idea because they could use to hang their purses. Kudos to them on that. There is also a patio area outside which on a cool Albuquerque evening makes for a great place to eat.

Second, the staff is super friendly. I asked to take pic of oven.  When I asked for a picture the staff let me go behind counter for a better look and a formal introduction to the oven, Claudia, and she is hot!!! She bakes one heck of a pizza too. Claudia is heated to 317 degrees Celsius, or about 600 Fahrenheit, and she can be turned up to 1000 degrees. While I was snapping some pictures the cook gave me a quick lesson on pizza oven and how they work. He was one heck of a guy and also very informative.

We arrived just before 6pm which meant we made it in time for happy hour which features appetizers for $5 per plate. The pies, or pizzas, are 12″ and can feed two people. Prices range from $10 to low teens. Take a look at the pics and you’ll see that you’re really getting a bargain. The food is very elegantly presented and you’d never guess you’re at a pizza place. It looks simply amazing.

Finally, the taste. I’ve mentioned a couple of times that they use fresh ingredients but until you’ve had them you really don’t know what you’re missing. Amore takes pride in their dishes. It’s evident in the presentation and the taste. The Meatball Sliders were phenomenal. The meat was seasoned very well, the marinara sauce was fresh, and the Fritte, fried pizza dough, was salted well and had just a subtle little crisp. From the picture you can see that they look amazing.

The Slider Trio which had Caprese, Prosciutto, and the Truffle (which had truffle cream, arugula and prosciutto) were all amazing. The Prosciutto had a little honey on it, which threw my girls off a bit, but I thought it was subtle and went well with the rest of the Slider.

Then there was the Albuquerque Duke pizza with sausage and green chile. The mozzarella, home made as well, was simply the best I’ve had. It was creamy, and hearty, and it went really well with the baked dough that was lightly toasted on the edges.

This is my first review in which a restaurant gets 5 Bites!!! I want to find a reason to give them something lower but I can’t find one because the staff was great. On top of that the restaurant had great decor and was inviting, and what really put them over the top was their dishes, the presentation, and the taste!
