Tacos Santa Cecilia Restaurant

Tacos Santa Cecilia Restaurant

Santa Cecilia has been around since 1986. They’re a great place for every meal of the day – breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had dinner so click HERE for the entire review on Santa Cecilia.

6305 Montana Ave, El Paso, TX 79925

OVERALL BITES:

Value: The price for the amount of food we had was a bit higher than what we expected. We paid about $40 total for 2 adults and 1 child.

Taste: This place hit the spot. We thought it was maybe because we were hungry but the food was quite delicious.

Presentation: Not much you could do with tostadas. Everything on my plate looked so fresh and I’m sure it was because of the tomatoes.

Vibe: There wasn’t many people here around this time. We came around 8p and they had only one booth with a few people that seemed to just have gotten off work.

Accessibility: Very very easy to find. On the corner of El Paso Dr. and Paisano. Parking isn’t limited and some of it is covered.

Review – Santa Cecilia

After a long Tuesday morning, and a Tuesday night T-ball game, we had to get something to eat. We decided to drop our stuff off at home and thought it would be too late to cook something so might as well go somewhere local. With it being later than usual for dinner we couldn’t find anything open.

I kept thinking of where to eat and I thought of Santa Cecilia. I had been here before but we are talking about almost 2 years ago. When you look at it, outside and inside, you’d think you were across the border in Juarez! I don’t know how everyone else sees restaurants like this but these are the places I think are the best. The servers were outside by the main door smoking which doesn’t really fly in my book.

We came in, sat down wherever we wanted, and our server came to bring us our menus. We ordered an Horchata, kid horchata and agua de piña. The horchatas were good. Creamy and sweet just like it is supposed to be. BUT the agua de piña tasted fermented. Or as if it was sitting there foreverrrrr! Not good.

We ordered our food. Chicken tostadas for me. YUM. It was the tostada, refried beans spread on top, shredded chicken, lettuce and tomato. I LOVE LOVE LOVE making this simple dish at home and when I saw it on the menu I knew I had to have it. The order came and I was pleased with how fresh it was. My mouth is actually watering right now! My boyfriend ordered queso fundido (cheese fondu) and a baked potato with steak and cheese on top of it. Everything was very well prepared and it hit the spot.

All in all I rate Santa Cecilia 3.5 Bites. The food was good but other things could have been a lot better.
