Villa and Zapata – Buen Desayuno!

1452 N Zaragoza Rd # A900, El Paso, TX 79936

Overall Bites:

Value: Breakfast for $6? Yes! Chilaquiles, over easy eggs, beans and coffee? Yes! Breakfast of champions for sure!

Taste: Delicious! I love waking up and having a great breakfast, it just feels like my day is more productive. These chilaquiles were perfect! Not too spicy, loaded with cheese, eggs were perfect and refried beans were salted to perfection.

Presentation: Hey, we aren’t at a gourmet restaurant. Everything is plated just like your mom will plate your food and who doesn’t like their mom’s cooking?

Vibe: We went at 9 a.m. and we were the FIRST customers! Vibe was great, the waitress was great and the music was awesome! My type of music for sure (spanish rock) but they don’t always play that. Most of it is spanish music.

Accessibility: It’s so easy to find this place! Most restaurants here in El Paso are very easy to find and this one is on one of our main streets which is Zaragosa!

Monday morning calls for an early breakfast. Well, the way it worked out was that I got a call at midnight from my sisters and they wanted to have breakfast, so why not? The restaurant is called Villa and Zapata. I’ve been to this place on various occasions and have never been disappointed. It’s a great Mexican restaurant and really does taste like mom’s cooking. They have a great menu and everything you order, I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

I ordered chilaquiles, which came with eggs, made to your liking, and refried beans. The salsa I chose was green versus red. I’m not big on red salsa when it comes to food like chilaquiles or enchiladas. They were great. They had cheese and they weren’t stingy with their cheese at all. The eggs were great, over easy and had the perfect runny yolk. The refried beans were also good. Nothing at all needed salt and everything was seasoned perfect. The service was great and I never had to ask for a refill. The food came out in a timely manner as well. On my previous occasions, I’ve had the buffet and it was amazing as well. I was just a little disappointed that I wasn’t able to have the buffet because that’s what we originally wanted. Again, no big deal because the food was really good. All in all, Villa and Zapata gets 4.5 Bites and only because I was disappointed that their buffet didn’t start until 10 a.m.
